Bardstown “Amrut” Collaboration Whiskey

For the latest release in the Collaborative Series, Bardstown took an 8 year old 95% rye whiskey sourced from MGP in Indiana, blended it with a 9 year old 51% rye whiskey from MGP and finished it in a barrels that previously held Amrut Indian Malt Whisky.  The finished rye is then blended with 10, 11, and 14 year old bourbons from Kentucky before bottling without chill filtration at 110 proof.   The nose features scents of cherry and vanilla with cinnamon and sweet green tea underneath.  On the palate, figs, raisins, and espresso give way to notes of ginger, dark chocolate, and sweet malt.  The dark chocolate lingers through the finish with ginger and herbal tea.  Complex and bold, Bardstown Bourbon Company’s impressive blending skills are on full display here.

The final blend comes to 20% of the 8 year old 95% Indian rye, 43% of the 9 year old 51% Indiana rye, 17% of a 14 year old Kentucky bourbon, 15% of a 10 year old Kentucky bourbon, and 5% of an 11 year old Kentucky bourbon.
